Maritiming

June’s been a busy month filled with all sorts of unexpected adventures. Not only did Mike and I make a last-minute trip down to Maine, but earlier in the month we got to see a little more of the Maritimes.

For Father’s Day weekend Mike and I headed down to see my parents in Shediac, New Brunswick. We had a lot of fun walking the beach, exploring the town, and taking photos with the giant lobster statue. As you can tell from the picture, Mike had a great time posing with the lobster (not pictured: Mike having an even better time eating a lobster that night).

Not too long after our weekend getaway to New Brunswick, I travelled to Prince Edward Island for work. Although the trip was pretty jam packed with meetings, I did get the chance to explore some of the island. I ventured around downtown Charlottetown and tried out some amazing restaurants (Pilot House, I’m looking at you), walked along a red rocky beach, and even toured a potato and tulip farm in Mt. Albion.

While I had an amazing time exploring the East Coast, I’m definitely glad to be back in Halifax. My once “itchy feet” are now pretty sore from my travels, and I’m looking forward to relaxing and enjoying my own bed for a change.

It’s good to be home.
